SMS opt-in evidence

For Twilio Toll-Free Verification reviewers — describes the consent flow used by every business that runs SMS through Rhanta (the ISV / SaaS platform powering an AI receptionist for small businesses in Canada and the US).

How recipients consent

Rhanta’s AI receptionist (the registered business’s outbound caller ID is the toll-free number being verified) answers an inbound call OR places an outbound campaign call. During the call the agent verbally requests consent before queuing any SMS. Consent is captured in the call transcript and stored alongside the booking record.

Verbal consent script

“Would you like me to text you a confirmation with the details? You can reply STOP at any time to opt out of future messages.”

The recipient answers affirmatively (“yes please”, “sure”, “d’accord”, etc.). Only at that point does the agent invoke itssend_sms_confirmationtool to queue the message.

Message types sent

  • Booking / appointment confirmations with date, time, and location
  • Pre-appointment reminders (≤ 1 per booking, opt-out honored)
  • Cancellation or reschedule notices, when initiated by the business

Rhanta does not send marketing, promotional, political, or third-party content over SMS. Each verified toll-free number stays scoped to one business and one use-case category (APPOINTMENT_REMINDERS).

Opt-out mechanism

Twilio’s automatic STOP/UNSUBSCRIBE/CANCEL handling is in effect on every Rhanta-managed number. Rhanta additionally maintains a per-business blocklist accessible from the operator dashboard and stops AI replies on a thread the moment STOP is received. Audit log of every opt-out event is kept for the lifetime of the business.

Identity of the sender

The sender is the registered business named in the corresponding TFV submission, not Rhanta. Rhanta appears on the verification application in the ISV / Reseller field because Rhanta provisions the toll-free number and operates the platform on the business’s behalf, but the consent and the messaging belong to the end business.
